John J. Campbell

Richard Hughes

Denver, Colorado

John is a special man. Regarded as the "dean" of elder law and crisis Medicaid-planning attorneys by his practicing colleagues throughout Colorado, John is routinely asked to teach attorneys the basic and advanced Medicaid planning techniques he has mastered over his 31 year career.

A graduate of the University of Missouri, where he earned both his B.S. in business administration and his Juris Doctorate in law, John was later honored with the coveted designations of Medicare Set-Aside Consultant Certified (MSCC) and Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA) by the prestigious National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. There are fewer than 500 CELAs in the entire country.

The list of John's papers, publications and speaking engagements is too lengthy to include in the thumbnail profile; however, you can get a true appreciation of his expertise by reviewing the several pieces he authored about Medicaid law found throughout our website.

A scholar, a gentleman and an accomplished fly fisherman, John also finds time for his newest and very impressive passion - painting on canvas.

When you need help with difficult long-term care issues, asset protection strategies or qualifying for Medicaid benefits, you come to the wizard when you come to John. We are proud to call John of counsel to the Hughes Law Firm.
