Rick graduated from Cameron University in Oklahoma on full scholarship where he played varsity tennis and was an active member of the debate team. He later went on to graduate from the Oklahoma City University School of Law. He is licensed to practice law in both Oklahoma and Colorado.
Rick has been with The Hughes Law Firm, P.C., since 1988 where he concentrates his practice in the areas of wills, trusts, and probate. He assists in hosting seminars, workshops and panel discussions on a variety of estate planning topics. He is a member of the Denver Bar Association, National Association of Elder Law Attorneys and the Elder Law Section of the Colorado Bar Association.
Rick enjoys simplifying difficult legal terms and translating them into plain English. His integrity and passion for improving the lives of others make him a joy to work with — for both his clients and professional colleagues.
Rick has traveled the world, visiting 47 countries and every continent except Antarctica. Nationally and world-ranked in tennis, Rick also enjoys paragliding, kayaking, riding motorcycles and taking advantage of his advanced scuba certification — not to mention snowboarding, where he is also nationally ranked! He is an avid reader and enjoys playing with his beloved dogs and cat.
