Introducing Justin B. Pierce

Justin is a graduate of Clarkson University located in St. Lawrence County, New York, where he majored in history and political science, with minors in business and legal studies. Prior to attending Clarkson University, he spent time at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, and embraced his Canadian heritage (Justin is a dual citizen of both the United States and Canada). Discovering that he was a passionate problem solver, Justin decided to attend the University of Denver College of Law where he received his Juris Doctorate degree and a certificate in Environmental and Natural Resources Law.

Justin has handled a wide range of legal matters in the areas of family law, estate planning, and real estate law. After law school, Justin moved to Beaufort, South Carolina to be closer to family and practice law in what the locals refer to as the “Lowcountry.” Justin represented both individuals and business entities in transactional and litigation-based matters. He was appointed by the South Carolina court as a guardian ad litem for children; negotiated real estate contracts and closings; negotiated leases and contracts; litigated evictions, divorces, and restraining orders; and crafted estate plans for families of all means.

After moving back to Colorado, Justin practiced at a boutique domestic relations firm where he was tasked with handling complex divorces, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, appellate matters, and estate planning. While Justin appreciates the use of a courtroom to solve problems, he firmly believes that properly advised planning and good-faith negotiations can avoid the unnecessary cost of the courtroom.

Justin is a member of the Elder Law, Trusts and Estates, and Family Law sections of the Colorado Bar Association. He is a member of the Jefferson County and Denver County  Bar Associations. Justin is passionate about community involvement and volunteers with Metro Volunteer Lawyers.

When not at the office, you can find Justin riding his motorcycle or hiking with his fiancé, Olivia. Justin also has two cats that enjoy sitting on his lap while he works.

Justin is passionate about his work, is a relentless advocate for his clients, and is a methodical negotiator willing to craft creative solutions. Justin is thrilled to be a part of The Hughes Law Firm, P.C., and looks forward to assisting you in all of your estate-planning and estate-settlement matters as needs arise.
